TAIKOO LI BEIJING XMAS 2015
Beijing, December 2015.
Taikoo Li, despite being the most stylish hangout in Beijing, had its image damaged by a sex-scandal and a brutal murder in 2015. For its 2015 Christmas they needed to refresh their image. They were looking to engage customers and maximise their social media exposure.
We designed a set platforms spread around the mall, each recreating the scenography of different cities around the world. From Florence to New York, different objects made them recognisable. London had a full size red double-decker bus that functioned as a pop-up cafe and as landmark for the activation. On top of this, each platform had a mailbox with a mini-scale version a iconic areas of these cities. A camera recorded the surprised facial expressions of the guests as they looked inside, generating a great opportunity for social sharing.
