PORSCHE SHANGHAI PHOTOFAIRS 2020
The discovery of electricity impacted every facet of modern life, from working hours to transport. As Thomas Edison remarked in 1879: “We will make electricity so cheap that only the rich will burn candles.” It was just natural that it made an impression on photographers too, who sought to capture the new-found flickering incandescence on film.
This same fascination was shared by Ferdinand Porsche, even as a teenager. The electric powertrain is embedded deep in the Porsche DNA. The first vehicles he designed had electric drives, like the iconic Lohner-Porsche Electromobile which he presented at the Expo in Paris in 1900.
Over 100 years later, as the world becomes more polluted and lithium-ion batteries became suitable for use in vehicles, Porsche is back focusing on electric mobility with two extraordinary endeavours, the Taycan and the participation of Porsche in the ABB FIA Formula E Championship.
Visitors at Photofairs Shanghai 2020 will discover how Porsche shines under a new spark of light, as the brand prepares to once again take the lead in the world of ectromobility…
